Privacy policy

Short version: this site counts page views with a cookie-free analytics tool, does not set cookies of its own, and does not collect personal information. Clicking an affiliate link takes you to another company's site, which has its own rules.

What we collect

Very little, by design. Japan Train Math is a static website. We do not run advertising scripts, we do not embed trackers or social media widgets, we do not have accounts or comments, and we do not set cookies of our own.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not identify you or follow you across sites; we see totals such as how many times a page was viewed, the referring site, the country and the device type. When you click a button to a booking site, you pass through a short page on this site (its address starts with /go/), so that page view tells us how many people clicked through. It does not tell us who you are or whether you bought anything.

We also keep our own simple counter, stored with our database provider (Supabase). For each page view or click to a booking site it records only the time, the page address, the referring site's domain and a random number that lives in your browser tab until you close it, so we can tell how many separate visits there were. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address and cannot be linked to you.

Like any web host, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and operational purposes. We do not use that data to identify visitors.

Affiliate links and third-party cookies

When you click an affiliate link, you leave this site. The affiliate network (such as Awin, impact.com or CJ) or the booking site typically sets its own cookies or similar identifiers on their domain so they can record that you were referred by us and pay us a commission if you sign up. We do not receive your personal information from this process; we only see aggregate commission reports. The practices of those companies are governed by their own privacy policies, and you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings.

Email you send us

If you email us, we will use your address and message only to reply and, where relevant, to correct a page. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your details. You can ask us to delete the correspondence at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data held about you. Because we hold essentially none, requests are rare, but you can make one using the contact below.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add analytics, newsletters or anything else that changes the above, we will update this page first and show the new date here.
